A panelled front door beneath a hood on carved brackets opens into a lofty reception hall with a flagstone floor, a beamed ceiling and matchboard panelling to dado height. To the rear is an inner hall with a turned staircase to the first floor, exposed studwork to one wall, exposed floorboards and a door to the rear garden,  which is very much a feature of the property being set down to lawn with a flagstone terrace and borders planted with peonies, geraniums, lavender, rosemary, digitalis and a topiary tree with a large square base and sculptured rings above. 

New Romney's historic high street has several small and interesting shops and services including banks, surgeries, greengrocers, florist, bakery, post office, pubs, restaurants and a Sainsburys supermarket. Schools in the area include The Marsh Academy in New Romney together with the Folkestone School for Girls, The Harvey Grammar School for boys, Norton Knatchbull Grammar School for boys and Highworth Grammar School for girls both in Ashford, 11 miles to the north. A school bus runs to both the Folkestone Grammar schools from New Romney. The A2070 Ashford approach road connects to the M20 and International Station which offers commuting services to London and high speed service to St Pancras, journey time 37 minutes. The Channel Tunnel Terminal near Folkestone is 12 miles and the Ancient Town of Rye, with its period Citadel, is about 10 miles to the west. Access to coastal bathing beaches is within 2 miles at Littlestone, where there is also an excellent links golf course and at Camber, 7 miles.
