When people voted for BREXIT they were, maybe, thinking of returning to the "good old days" when our industry was thriving. But having lost most of it over the last 20 years could Britain return to making again? It is a big question. It is a fact that we cannot compete with far eastern imports but what we do have is expertise in design and technology. Home grown creatives are showing a growing resilience and  a desire to make good quality products that people will want to keep and conserve. We are becoming more considerate about what is in our shopping baskets. Where is it made? and by whom?.....from our food to our clothing and in our homes. Looking  for sustainable materials is not just about the  product it is about the people who are making it. which is already prevalent in our supermarkets supporting the 'local food heroes'. So maybe the philosophy of wanting to know the stories behind our purchases will matter as much as their aesthetic  or functional qualities.
